Paul "Pooh" Lunt
Founder, President & CEO, Popolo Music Group
Paul “Pooh” Lunt is a multifaceted entrepreneur, artist, and executive whose mission is to empower creatives through meaningful ownership, strategic growth, and cross-cultural connection. As the founder, President, and CEO of Popolo Music Group and Popolo Music Publishing, he brings a rare blend of business acumen and creative intuition to the evolving landscape of music.
Pooh’s entry into the music industry wasn’t a pivot—it was a progression. With decades of experience building the Paul Lunt Group (PLG), a private equity firm with global investments in Entertainment, hospitality, retail, and finance, he developed a deep understanding of brand building, deal structuring, and long-term value creation. In 2018, he launched Popolo Music Group with a clear vision: to create an independent music company that champions artist ownership, financial transparency, and global reach—while maintaining the heart of creative freedom.
As both an executive and performer, Pooh brings a dual-lens perspective to artist development. Under his leadership, Popolo has expanded its showcases and talent acquisitions to seven global cities—including Honolulu, Seoul, Manila, London, New York, Los Angeles, and Paris—and built a growing roster of artists across genres. Recent milestones include partnerships with international producers, multi-market distribution strategies, and artist-first contracts designed to give creatives equity in their work and control over their careers.
Still, Pooh recognizes that building a music company from the ground up comes with challenges. Competing with legacy labels means constantly innovating—from how Popolo structures deals to how it supports artists in diverse markets. His approach is collaborative and evolving, focused on balancing global scale with local authenticity and ensuring each artist gets hands-on support that reflects their unique goals.
What sets Popolo apart isn’t just its footprint—it’s its philosophy. Pooh believes true artist empowerment means more than buzzwords. It’s about transparent business practices, long-term career planning, and access to tools that help artists build not just songs, but sustainable futures.
